IS YOUR MOTHER HOME?: This was done last week during my visit in Detroit. It’s a collaboration between myself and BMG (of Ectomorph fame) for our DVDA project. Done mostly with analog gear, this was a great learning experience for me. We should be putting it out later this Summer (hopefully).
And yeah, that’s me on the vocal. :) We got the idea to add vocals when we were discussing the bassline, and how it seemingly was saying to us “get in my van”.

ACID EMPIRE STATE: Earlier today, I sent out a tweet (HATE that word, btw) asking if it was a bad thing to blatantly rip-off Choice’s “Acid Eiffel”. Some interesting points were made by some people whom I respect, so I said “screw it” and went and did it. I don’t think I would even want to release it, but I think it will be fun to play. A lot of what I feel is the best of this track is in the low end, so hopefully you’re listening on big speakers!

edit: I would also like to add that Acid Eiffel really is one of my all-time favorite records. It has made me cry many, many times. I know this version couldn’t come close to the Original (obviously) and I’ve always been one for “if it’s perfect, why mess with it”, but I just felt like playing around. If for some reason you don’t know the original, it’s by Choice and it’s on Fragile Records out of Detroit. Shouldn’t be hard to find at all. Positively perfect in every way.
THE UNFORESEEN: Started and finished it today. Had to trim the last minute or so off due to 10 MB limit for streaming files on tumblr. I may makes some changes, but I think it’s done, save for a mastering job.

THE GLASS BEAD GAME: I made this over the summer. I sent it to my good friend, HRDVSION and he showed me a lot about what you can do with a semi-proper mastering job. The only problem was that the kick I used was really weak, due to working with very substandard monitors. I’ve now beefed it up a bit and I feel it’s done.
